Have you ever noticed IT professionals using a different kind of control panel where all the settings are on one page. This interface is called ‘God’ mode.
The God mode makes changing configurations and settings easy by giving a better summary of things that you need to view.
Let’s deconstruct the God mode for Windows for your benefit then.
What is God Mode?
The answer to that question has to be a little more spiritual than you would probably want! It is believed that God is controlling the world, the universe and everything from one place. Similarly, on a computer, the God mode means you will be able to control everything from one place. It is a place where you can find settings for all the components of the computer.
How to enable God-mode in Windows 10?
If you are a Windows 10 user and you love to play with settings of your laptop or computer, then here is how you can get all the settings on one place by enabling God Mode.
- Make sure that you are logged in from an account having admin privileges.
- Go to the desktop by pressing Windows and D key.
- Right click on the desktop and create a new folder.
- Right click to rename this new folder. Name the folder: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} and hit enter.
- Now you will see that the folder icon has changed to control panel icon on the desktop. With the name “God Mode”
- When you will click this icon you will be on the God mode and will have all the settings in front of you. In these settings, categories are sorted alphabetically.
Now you can easily navigate to the settings of any component of your computer. At any point, if you feel that you no longer need God Mode or if you have enabled God Mode for single use, then you can simply shift+Delete the icon you have created on the desktop.
This is how you can configure settings of any device easily by using God mode. Now you do not need to dive deep into control panel to search for a component to configure settings for it.
Try out God mode and let us know if it is of help to you.

I’ve tried this method and I get the God Mode icon, it opens God Mode, but, it displays no title (“GodMode”) below the icon on the desktop, I can’t change the default icon, and I’ve been unable to find any way to get the folder name to show. I’m running the Windows 10 Home edition.Deepak
Hi Jeff, Try the following and see if it helps… 1.Right click on the desktop and click New > Shortcut. 2.Copy and paste following the command when it asks you for the location. %windir%explorer.exe shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} 3.Click Next. You will be asked to give a name for the shortcut. Type GodMode. 4.Click finish. You will get God Mode shortcut with name but the icon will be different.
