Google’s Stadia Controller Will Finally Work Wirelessly With Your Computer

No longer do you need to plug in to play on the web.

In 2019 many new services and technology trends emerged, but none survived in 2020. We all know novel coronavirus is responsible for it. But certain services like cloud gaming and video calling are booming and due to this, companies are announcing new capabilities ahead of time.

In this regard, Google announced wireless Stadia controller support for the web. The change that was expected to be released at the end of March will now be released this week. This means no longer laptop and desktop users will need to connect the controller via USB.

This makes sense as not everyone likes being restricted because of wires. Now gamers will be able to leave USB-C cable behind when playing their favourite game.

Google’s Stadia device will work wirelessly on desktop and laptop. If you are playing stadia games on your Android device you won’t be able to use the Stadia controller wirelessly.

It’s not clear when the functionality might arrive.

How does the controller work wirelessly?

In November 2019, when Stadia was launched, wireless capabilities were restricted to Chromecast Ultra. This means only Chromecast Ultra users could use it. Due to this the whole point of having a wireless controller seemed nonsensical and this annoyed people.

But the latest announcement made by Google about its Stadia will finally change things. Now users can ditch wires attached to the controller if playing on desktop or laptop. However, Android users are still out of luck

To directly link controllers to Stadia.com they need a common Wi-Fi connection.

Once connected power on the device > visit stadia.com > open Controller > this will give you a code > enter the code on your Controller to stay connected.

This is done to offer the fastest gaming experience as compared to Bluetooth or wired connectivity.

From where can I buy a Stadia Controller?

You can buy the Stadia controller, at $69 or for $129 as part of the Stadia Premiere Edition bundle. This will include Chromecast Ultra, three months paid Stadia Pro subscription.

The announcement about Stadia Wireless Controller Support on the Web is just the beginning. Google will not miss any opportunity to attract customers and in this regard Google is planning to add new games like – SteamWorld Heist, Turing Test, Zombie Army 4: Dead War, etc. all free for Stadia Pro subscribers.

Alongside if you do not have a Stadia controller then you can use third-party controllers like Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Xbox, and Sony PlayStation and. Most of these controllers can be connected to Pixel phones via Bluetooth.
