Windows 11 is garnering a lot of appreciation for its ease of use, its features, and other facets, however, that still doesn’t hide the fact that it is far from being impeccable. 1. Windows 11 Won’t Run Because of TPM

Despite having a computer with apt specs for Windows 11, many users are unable to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 because they don’t have TPM enabled. Over the period, workarounds are occurring where even if you don’t have TPM enabled, you will still be able to run Windows 11. Such workarounds might involve delving into registries. And, a wrong step there might render your computer inoperable. On the safer side, if you want Windows 11, then you should either invest in a CPU that supports TPM or if not enabled, you should manually do it.

From Microsoft’s standpoint, here’s why it is asking users to enable TPM. To check if your PC supports TPM, here are the steps –

  1. Press Windows + R and open the Run dialog box.
  2. Type msc and press Enter.

3. Open TPM Manufacturer Information and under Specific Version, check your TPM version.

4. If you have TPM 2.0, you shouldn’t have any issue else you will have to enable it or get a CPU that has a TPM                2.0 support.

2. Windows 11 Programs Don’t Respond

Let’s put the above TPM 2.0 chip problem aside and presume that you have a brand new Windows 11 probably on a PC that previously housed Windows 10. Your expectations that your computerwill work smoothly has skyrocketed. But then what’s that? As soon as you try and open Programs, they just don’t respond. 3. Snip & Sketch Not Working

Let’s say you are someone who has to take screenshots day in and day out but as soon as you upgraded to Windows 11, one problem you are facing is that the snip and sketch or snipping tool won’t work. If that’s you, you can try restarting the app, changing your system’s date and time, resetting the app  and trying a few more other things that we have discussed here.

4. Windows 11 Is Short on Space

Shortage in space is one of the most common issues that Windows 11 users are dealing with. This is quite common, especially with those who have recently upgraded to Windows 11 from Windows 10. One of the reasons is that Windows keeps the previous Windows 10 files for a while and  good – Just in case, you don’t find the upgrade right, you can revert to Windows 10.

Here, you can take the aid of the inbuilt Disk Cleanup utility and get rid of Previous Windows installations. To do that –

  1. In the Windows search bar,type Disk.disk-cleanup
  2. Click on Open from the right-hand side.
  3. Click on OK.
  4. Locate Previous Windows installations(s)and delete them (That is if you do not have any issues with the Windows 11 you have).

This is indeed a subjective issue. 6. Windows 11 Slows Down SSD

Quite strangely, some users who have recently upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 have reported a dip in their SSD’s (Solid State Drive) performance. Microsoft and Reddit’s support forums are filled with such complaints.

Now, this is a classic example of why as a Windows user, you should keep an eye out for upgrades. For this issue, Microsoft has released the KB5007262 patch that can be downloaded from Microsoft Update Catalog manually. The update patches issues with NVMe, SSD, and hard drive performance.

7. Search Not Working Correctly

Windows 11 has arrived with a new search menu which is quite decent to look at and works well. However, many users have come across an issue where they could not find files that are already on their hard disk. At the outset, we’d like to mention that it takes a while to build the search index. Though, even if after a couple of days, you can’t find the files you are looking for, you can try the following steps –

  1. In the Windows search bar, type Index.indexing
  2. When the Indexing Options window opens,click on Advanced.advanced
  3. Under Troubleshooting, click on the Rebuild option that you can find next to Delete and rebuild index.
