Clash of Instant Messaging Titans: WhatsApp v/s Snapchat

When it comes to competition, then both WhatsApp and Snapchat are in a head-to-head battle with each other. Both the applications are being loved and used by a lot of people. Yet they have their own set of pros and cons. WhatsApp is a text messaging app where you can share photos, videos, files and create groups and broadcast message lists whereas Snapchat allows you to share snaps/photos or videos (known as stories) instantly with all your friends.

So, which application is better than the other? Here are some app facts to help you decide.

1. “Typing” Status…

This is one common trait of both the applications. When you start typing any message, it tells the other person that you’re typing so that the they can wait before sending the next message to avoid any confusion.

However, the snaps (or photos) which you share via Snapchat get deleted in a short period of time but in WhatsApp, they can be saved and stored in backup.

Last but not the least, in the latest WhatsApp update it now lets you add stories as status. Now you won’t see any boring one liner status messages saying “available” or “busy”, instead you can now view an entire animated story of your friends and family (just like snapchat stories).
