Fix Cracking/Buzzing Speakers on a Windows PC

  1. Change the Audio Format

  • Locate the speaker icon, at the bottom right-hand corner of the taskbar.Change the Audio Format
  • Right-click on it and select “Playback Devices”
  • You will get Sound Pane, click on Speakers with a green check to open the Properties.sound
  • Select Advanced Tab and change the Default Format to middle class lower quality output.speaker properties
  • Click OK to save changes.

  1. Push Away the Audio Enhancements

To lower the sound of your device, follow these steps:

  • Locate the speaker icon, at the bottom right-hand corner of the taskbar.
  • Right-click on it and select “Playback Devices”Change the Audio Format
  • You will get Sound Pane, click on Speakers with a green check to openProperties.sound
  • Select Enhancements Tab.enhancement tab
  • Checkmark the option “Disable all Enhancements”/ “Disable All Sound Effects” to disable all sound enhancements.

  1. Exit the Exclusive Mode

If you have enabled Exclusive mode for the sound drivers on your PC, you should disable it to get rid of weird sounds. Follow these steps to do so:

  • Locate the speaker icon, at the bottom-right corner of the taskbar.Change the Audio Format
  • Right-click on it and select “Playback Devices”
  • You will get Sound Pane, click on Speakers with a green check to open Properties.sound
  • Select Advanced Tab and disable “Allow Applications to take Exclusive Control of the Device” under the Exclusive Modespeaker properties
  • Click OK to save changes.
  1. Update the Sound Drivers of your Windows

You should check for updates for the drivers as it helps to keep your system healthy. Most of the issues get fixed by updating the drivers. Updating your sound drivers could hopefully fix the cracking or popping sounds of the computer.
