After releasing a big update for desktop users in March, Slack the widespread communication, team collaboration service comes with a big update for iOS users.
With this update, iOS users will get all new Slack UI, bottom bar navigation with tabs, shortcut buttons, and more. Read further to know all the changes.
How to get the redesigned app?
From today onwards, Slack with new UI is available on the App Store. To download it, click here.
However, if you have the latest version but it does not look like the redesigned app, don’t worry. It seems the redesign is still rolling out.
The new design will make things easy for users. Earlier the four main things – navigation, sending DMs, Home view, Mentions & You- were a bit complicated to achieve by iOS users. But with this new update, things will change.
Here are some screenshots to prove it:
What Are The Most Significant Changes In Slack’s UI For Ios Users?
The major change you will notice is the bottom bar navigation design. Instead of hiding the menu behind the three-line icon now, users will use the bottom bar for navigation. This includes:
- Home
- DMs
- Mentions and You
All this will make Slack’s navigation easy and faster.
Besides this, a new compose floating button will help send and create channel messages or DMs easily. Also, you get a lighting bolt icon for accessing shortcuts easily just like in Slack desktop.
With all this, there’s something you will need to re-adjust with like swiping behaviors.
Now swiping right will show workspace settings and preferences while left will take you to the last conversation.
The update is specific to iPhone versions of the app. This means for the time being an iPad version will remain the same.
At this time, when we all are staying at home and working from home, this update will be of great help. Change in the out of place swiping gestures, navigation bar, Mentions, and You, DMs is a significant relief. Now with simple gestures, users will be able to use Slack more promptly. For hard workers, the lightning bolt icon is a respite as they will now be able to set reminders, start workflows, access conversations, and more efficiently.
Soon an update will be released for iPad users too.
