How to Fix “ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED” Error in Google Chrome

Sometimes, when we try to visit a web page in Google Chrome, we get the ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED error. We have researched about this error and found some important solutions to fix the problem. There can be a variety of reasons behind this problem, so you can try the solutions one by one to resolve this issue.

The message you will get in the error is “Google Chrome can’t display the webpage because your computer isn’t connected to the Internet” or “There is no Internet connection”.

Solution 1: Clear Browser Cache, History and Cookies

It is the most common resolution that you can apply to resolve the problem. You just need to clean the cache, cookies and history of your Google Chrome web browser. Sometime  saved cache and cookies may interrupt your Internet and that will not allow you to access your favorite web page. To clean the cache, cookies and history of web browser you can follow the steps below:

  • Open your Google Chrome browser.
  • Now, tap on 3- dot menu located at the top right corner of page.
  • Scroll down and tap on More Tools option.

  • Here, tap on Clear Browsing Data.
  • Now, select the time range ‘All Time’ and check mark cookies, cache and history and tap on clear data button.

Once you will clean the browsing history and save cookies and cache, try to open the web page again and check for the error.

Solution 2: Uninstall/Re-install Antivirus Program

If the above solution does not work for you, then you can try this method to resolve the problem. Alternatively, you can also try to disable your Anti-Virus temporarily. You can disable the Anti-virus via just right-click on program icon placed in system tray. From there you can disable it. If this does not work for you, you can uninstall the Anti-Virus from control panel and reboot your system. After restart, you need to visit the website of your Anti-Virus company and from there you can download the latest version of the product.

 

Solution 3: Run Network Troubleshooter

The third solution you can try to resolve the problem is to run Network Troubleshooter to check the network connection. To do so you just need to follow the steps below:

  • Click on the Start button located near the Cortana search bar.
  • Now, tap on Settings (Gear Icon).

Solution 4: Troubleshoot Network Using Command Prompt

You can also try to troubleshoot the Network problem via Command Prompt. To do so follow the steps ahead.

  • Type CMD in the Cortana search bar.
  • Now, right-click on command prompt option and tap on Run as Admin.
  • In Command Prompt window you can try the below mentioned commands to resolve the network problem.

  3. ipconfig /release
  4. ipconfig /renew
  5. ipconfig /flushdns
  6. ipconfig /registerdns
  7. Exit

After applying all above-mentioned commands reboot your system and check for the error again.

Solution 5: Disable Automatic Proxy Setup

If above-mentioned solutions don’t work for you then you should try to disable automatic proxy settings.

  • To do so click on the Start button located near the Cortana search bar.
  • Now, tap on Settings (Gear Icon).

  • Here, scroll down on the screen and tap on Proxy placed at the left side corner. Now, on the right side of the toggle of the Automatically detect settings.

Solution 6: Disable Settings of Internet Protocol(IPv6)

It is the recommended resolution given by most of the users who have faced the problem. You can try this method to solve the problem.

  • To do so click on the Start button located near the Cortana search bar.
  • Now, tap on Settings (Gear Icon).

Solution 7: Uninstall/Reinstall Network Drivers

Sometime problem can occur due to corruption of the network drivers. And due to this your Internet doesn’t work properly and you get the ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED error. So, you need to reinstall the latest version of the drivers.

  • To do so type device manager in the Cortana search bar and press Enter key.

  • Extend the contents of Network Adapters and search on the internet network driver.
