Chocolate Day Special: Tech Gifts Ideas You Should Avoid This Valentine’s Day!

It’s that day of the year when you have a pretty good excuse to indulge your sweet tooth, without feeling guilty about – ahem – the calorie intake!

And if you are still feeling guilty about all the calories you are gonna consume today, we have some good news:

“Nestle, the world’s largest packaged food group, said it had devised a new technology that has the potential to reduce sugar in some of its confectionery products by up to 40 percent without affecting the taste.”

~As reported in CNBC

So there! And while you bite into your favorite creamy and/or chocolaty delights, here’s a list of common mistakes you should avoid if you are planning on giving your loved one(s) gadgets or ‘techy’ gifts.

1. End up gifting stuff that they Don’t Want:

If you are not particularly tech savvy, there’s a big chance of mixing up your gift ideas. For instance, don’t interchange Xbox games with Play Station games! Likewise, if someone prefers Android over iPhone, it’s not really a good idea to give then an iPhone because you think it would make for a good gift.

2. Buy them a Gadget that might make them body-conscious:

Although we are all for a healthy lifestyle, V-day is hardly the day to remind someone of all the pounds they need to shed! Fitness gadgets such as Fitbit Aria 2 Smart Scale, PowerDot Electrical Muscle Stimulator, Theragun G2Pro are not the best gift items for V-Day. Maybe, you can reserve this gift idea for a later date. Or not. Running together is a better option. Just saying!

3. Promise a ‘Big Surprise’ and then fail miserably:

As far as tech goes, gifting the newest gadgets could make for ‘big surprises’. However, don’t pin your hopes on any latest technology, that has not been released in the market yet. Release dates can get postponed. What then? Some of the hottest unreleased gadgets that might be on your mind include Royole FlexPai folding smartphone, Gaming Laptop, Smart Speakers and the likes. But don’t earmark these as V-Day gifts!

4. Buy Gadgets that don’t make your partner feel special:

There are all kinds of love and then there’s romantic love! Like it or not, V-day, by and large has come to signify romance above everything else. The last thing you want to do on the Big Day is to make your partner feel ‘less than special’. Things like AirPods and Amazon Echo, that can be shared by both of you, definitely won’t make him/her feel special. Avoid!
