Because of the pandemic, everything is changing, due to it either the tech events are being canceled or are going online. With that said, Apple is no exception, and this year instead of hosting WWDC at San Jose, California, the company is hosting it as an online event, free for developers on June 22nd, 2020.
Usually, to attend this show, developers had to purchase tickets worth $1600 but this time since it is online everything is free.
WWDC is a long event hosted by Apple each year for several days. During this event, Apple specifies forthcoming software updates on its platforms and services – Apple TV, iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac. The most predicted announcement of WWDC is the debut of Apple’s new iPhone and sometimes new Mac hardware products.

What To Expect From Virtual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) – 2020?
The event will kick off with a keynote speech but timing or logistics for the same are not shared. Probably, it will be a Livestream and if we’re talking about a 9 am Cupertino it means it will start around 6pm UK time.
Besides this Apple’s WWDC poster is depicting three Memoji characters that are looking from behind their Mac machines. No one knows what it means but for some, in a funny manner, it stands for Tim Cook and his friends hosting events as 3D caricatures of themselves.
But my experience says something big is going to be revealed. It could be Apple bringing FaceID to Mac or something else similar.
In addition to this, Apple is focusing on launching something for student developers and has named it the Swift Student Challenge. Here students will have to design and submit an interactive Swift playground coding app. This app must deliver experience within three minutes. Winners of the challenge will get a jacket and a badge set. To apply and read more about the challenge click here. The deadline for application is May 18th, 2:59 AM ET.
Moreover, you can see iOS getting a new fitness app, new features for iMessage, PencilKit API, & improved mouse cursor support. Also, you can witness sleep tracking and the new country flag watchface added to watchOS 7.

How Developers Can Access WWDC – 2020?
Certified developers can access it through Apple’s developer website and app.
WWDC is not the only event that is going to change. Microsoft Build 2020 too will be a 48-hour live virtual event hosted on 19th May 11am ET. However, you won’t see Google I/O 2020 developer conference and Facebook F8 as they were canceled.
This shows the changing future of tech events and how we will be able to attend them in the future.
