Instagram – Now Equipped with Offline Mode on Android

At the recently held Facebook developer’s conference on Tuesday, Instagram announced that it has bought offline feature on its android app. With the offline support users, will be able to browse through Instagram’s preloaded feed and can even save like or post without internet. Company is working to bring the same feature for iOS users very soon.

How it works:

Let us find out how offline feature works on Instagram for android. All your actions keep storing in the app and as soon as the application gets access to the internet all your actions (like, comment, follow, unfollow etc. get executed). This feature is inspired by the parent app of Instagram, Facebook. Where Facebook lite app is launched specially for the users do not have a stable internet connectivity.

Company has confirmed that this feature is currently being tested in the regions having low bandwidth. In the conference, it was said “Instagram’s mission is to help people connect through shared experiences. 80 percent of the community is outside of the US, and as our platform grows, Instagram must perform across an increasing variety of devices and networks to keep people connected. For people in low-bandwidth regions, we’ve begun testing offline experiences that keep the Instagram experience consistent and let people consume and engage with content, even if they don’t have service. In this talk we’ll introduce some of our initial explorations into offline features, and share learnings you can apply to your own apps,”

Instagram is making continuous efforts for making its application better recently some major changes have been done to the application such as live stories.
