Fix ‘Your SIM Sent A Text Message’ Notification On iPhone

Fix 1: Check For Carrier Settings Updates From Service Provider

If the carrier service provider releases an update to improve iPhone’s ability to connect with the network and there is also an update by Apple then the SIM card has to send a text message to update itself. To see if the update is available:

  • Launch Settings on your iPhone.
  • Next, tap on General.

  • Now, tap on About and wait for about 15-30 seconds.

If an update is available, you will see a Carrier Settings Update popup.

  • Tap on Update.

However, in case, pop-up doesn’t appear after 30 seconds, it means update is not available.

Fix 2: Reset Network Settings

Reset Network Settings on iPhone will reset the phone to factory settings which will reset it to default values.

When you reset network settings on your iPhone, all the Cellular, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and VPN settings on your iPhone will reset to default values. Before performing this step, make sure you note down your login information like Wi-Fi name, password etc. This will fix the glitch on your iPhone.

  • Launch Settings on your iPhone.
  • Next, tap on General.

Fix 3: Turn Your iPhone OFF And ON

Sometimes when carrier settings are updated, we do not restart iPhone and SIM card may get stuck in a loop. Due to this, the SIM tries to text your wireless carrier.

Turning OFF iPhone and turning it ON again can give a fresh start and stop this loop.

To turn it OFF:

  • Press and hold the Power Button, until you see slide to power off button.
  • Power off your iPhone by swiping the slider to the right.

Fix 4: Eject SIM Card And Insert It Back Again

Ejecting and reinserting the SIM card will give it a fresh start and allow it to reconnect to the network. To eject your SIM card, follow the steps below:

  • Use a SIM Card ejector tool or a paper clip and eject the SIM card tray from your iPhone.

Fix 5: Contact Wireless Carrier Provider
