Gone are the times when the only possible way to charge your phone was through a wired charger. Nobody wants to keep looking for a charging slot sitting in a coffee shop. It’s a place to enjoy your coffee, not to worry about battery drainage!
If you have a wireless charger, you are good to go. With the introduction of Qi wireless charging technology 9 years ago, wireless chargers came into existence. That made charging phones a lot easier.
What is Qi Wireless Charging?
It is a technology that lets you charge a (compatible) device, using induction transfer and many smartphones now adhere to Qi wireless charging. The compatible device is charged by simply putting it over a wireless pad. As is evident, this does not need any wires or cables.
Apple didn’t support wireless charging for iPhones until recently. Strange, considering the tech giant has always been known for pioneering high-end technology in its products. But there’s good news for Apple loyalists!
The new iPhone series launched on September 12, finally embraced wireless charging. Three phones – iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and the much-anticipated iPhone X – were introduced in this series.
Though there aren’t much changes in any of the phones, compared to their predecessors, there are a few features that are new. The most noticeable thing about the new series support for Qi wireless charging. All the three iPhones now have glass backs along with a conductive charging receiver that hides beneath them.
Though Apple took quite a while to make use of Qi technology, we hope to see some more interesting wireless charging accessories support in the near future.
In this article, we have curated a list of some of the best wireless chargers for iPhone that supports Qi wireless charging standards. Take a look!
