Whether it’s about making vacation plans for summer or sharing pictures of last weekend bash with your friend’s group, WhatsApp has always been there as our constant companion. When it comes to texting, there’s no other app as reliable and secure as WhatsApp. It is one of the most widely used cross-platform text messaging app that makes our overall chatting experience so much worth it!
From sharing digital media, live location, free voice calling, and group video calling, WhatsApp has surely evolved into something better with each new update. WhatsApp is known for its massive popularity and due to this, developers keep adding new features along with latest app updates. It is our favorite instant messaging app due to so many reasons that we have to have on our smartphones, no matter what!
2019 has been technologically sound as a bunch of new WhatsApp features are introduced this year. We were pretty much looking forward for all these features for a long time and now finally the wait is over! Let’s take a look at these recently added WhatsApp features that will make you fall in love with this app all over again!
Biometric Authentication
Security happens to be a crucial concern when it comes to preserving our online privacy. WhatsApp finally introduced a new authentication feature recently for iOS platforms that allows you to lock the app with a Face ID or Touch ID, however, you prefer. This has been a much-awaited feature, as iOS users were always struggling on how to lock down WhatsApp as there was no other feasible way to do the same. Locking WhatsApp individually offers so much ease to keep our private conversations safe and secure, along with peace of mind.
To use this feature, launch WhatsApp, head on to Settings> Account> Privacy>Screen Lock and then enable “Require Touch ID/ Face ID” option. Android users have to wait for a while until WhatsApp releases the next update as currently biometric authentication is only supported on iOS platform.
Video Group Calling
Another major breakthrough that made WhatsApp’s popularity a huge success is when it rolled out the group video calling feature. Not just this, WhatsApp also added a new Group calling icon shortcut recently on both Android and iOS, that allows you to easily connect with your loved ones in just one tap.
PiP Mode
You must’ve mostly seen the Picture in Picture (PiP) mode on YouTube, that allows you to play a particular video playback while you continue to do anything else in the background. Well, the good news is, WhatsApp also supports a PiP mode now in case you haven’t noticed so far, where you can literally pin down any video on WhatsApp in the corner while conversing with your loved ones.
Private Reply
WhatsApp introduced a new “Private Reply” feature in its latest update which can be used while conversing in group chats. In case you want to send a text to any group participant personally then you can long-tap on any message shared by them in the group, select “Reply Privately” option from the menu so that you can communicate privately, as the other group members won’t know about it.
