What Caused This Massive Outage?
There has been no official word from Microsoft officials as to what caused this outage. But one thing for sure is that it affected a lot of users around the globe. There are a number of causes for internet service interruptions. Some of the common causes of technological outages include errors in deployment code or actual physical damage to a server.
This outage has also led to the loss of businesses and work. As it occurred on the 2nd day of this year this outage is dubbed the “First Major-Tech Outage of 2023”.

Microsoft Azure hosts many other apps and web-based servers which means that all the services using Azure were affected by the Microsoft outage too. In addition, Skype, OneDrive, and Office 365 are used around the world both by business and personal users. Users first began to report problems when specific desired files failed to upload from their end. Later it was discovered that both Downloads and Uploads are not operating as intended for a number of customers all over the world.
