How to Upload Pictures and Videos to Instagram From Laptop or PC

Many of us, especially photographers would sometimes prefer to upload photos directly to their Instagram account from their laptop without installing the app.

Now it is possible as Instagram has come up with a mobile web app from where you can upload pictures and videos directly to Instagram from your web browser.

Instagram does not have any application for Windows and MacOS, this mobile web app will help users. There are users who edit the pictures before uploading it. So, now you can edit it in photo editing software and upload it directly from desktop to Instagram.

Let’s have a look at the step-by-step guide for different browsers.

Upload Pictures and Videos to Instagram From Windows

1. Mozilla Firefox

Step 1- In Mozilla Firefox, go to Instagram.com.

Step 2- Log in with your Instagram username and password.

Step 3- Now, right click the page.

Step 4- Select ‘Inspect Element(Q)’.

Note: After selecting Inspect Element, element window will open at the bottom of the page.

Step 5- Now click on the phone icon at the top right corner of the element window or you can press Ctrl+Shift+M to switch to mobile view.

Step 6- Select the device from the bar at the top of Instagram Window.

2. Google Chrome

Step 1- In Google Chrome, go to Instagram.com.

Step 2- Log in with your Instagram ID and password.

Step 3- Now, right click the page.

Step 4- Select ‘Inspect’.

Note: After selecting Inspect, element window will open at the right side of the page.

Step 5- Now click on the tablet icon at the top right corner of the element window or you can press Ctrl+Shift+M to switch to mobile view.

Step 6- Select the device from the bar on top of the Instagram Window.

Note: These instructions may not work on all desktops.

Upload Pictures and Videos to Instagram From Mac

1. Safari

In MacOS, it’s a 2 step longer process than Widows.

Step 1- First, you have to open Safari.

Step 2- Go to Preferences.

Step 3- Now, go to Advanced.

Step 4- Select the option, “Show Develop Menu in Menu Bar”.

Step 5- Now open a private browsing window.

Step 6- Go to Head and select “Develop”. In Develop, go to User Agent and

Select “iOS 11- iPhone”.

Step 7- Go to Instagram.com and log in with username and password.

Step 8- Select the device from the bar at the top of the Instagram window.
Now you can just upload photos directly like how you do it over mobile application by just following the above mentioned steps.
