What Does This Report Contain?
Initially, this feature was only launched for Android users however now it is available for iPhone users as well. All this means that now you can get an insight of the information that WhatsApp knows about you. The feature allows you to request and export a report of your WhatsApp account information, settings, profile photo, contacts and group names.
So, guys if you to wish to export your WhatsApp account information then just follow the steps described in the article below:
First of all, we wish to tell you that to use this feature you have to update your WhatsApp app from the Google Play Store (for Android users) and App store (iPhone users).
How to Download WhatsApp Account Information for Android:
To download WhatsApp account information on your Android smartphone first make sure that you are using an updated version of the app.
- Open WhatsApp on your phone by tapping on its icon. Now tap on three dots located at the top right corner and select Settings from the drop-down menu.
- In WhatsApp settings tap on Account option.
- Now in the Account section tap on Request account info.
- Now tap on Request report to request your account information report.
- Your request will now be sent to WhatsApp and will be available for you to download within about 3 days from the request date.
Note: Do not make any changes to your WhatsApp account like changing the current number that you are using on WhatsApp or deleting WhatsApp account. Also, please note that this report will not contain your messages as they are end-to-end encrypted. This report will only contain your account information and its settings.

How to Download WhatsApp Account Information for iPhone:
Like for Android, you have to first update WhatsApp on your iPhone to download your account information.
- After updating WhatsApp to the latest version, launch it by tapping on it and head on to its Settings.
- Now in WhatsApp settings tap on Account option.
- In the Account section tap on Request Account Info.
- Now tap on Request Report option in Request Account Info section.
- Now a request has been sent to WhatsApp for the account information report and settings. Similarly, like Android, it will take about 3 days for your report to be generated. Also, be assured not to make any changes to your account (like changing the number or deleting the number) as it will cancel the request automatically.
What Data Does WhatsApp Account Information Report Contain?
After making a request for account information report you will automatically receive it in about 3 days. Some may receive it earlier although in our case we received it in exactly 3 days from the request date. Whenever the report is ready you will receive a notification on your WhatsApp stating that the report is now available for download.
In case you just close the notification, you can get this report in the Request Account Info section (Settings > Account > Request account info). Now tap on Download report to get the report.
After tapping on Download report tap on Export report to export the report.
You can download this report or share it with anyone. However please make sure to share it with only the one whom you trust as it contains sensitive information. Also, please note that the report is available for download for just 30 days from the generation.
