Steps To Backup & Restore Sticky Notes On Windows 10, 7, and 8
Sticky Notes is an application which has been used to take notes on Windows for many years. The app’s interface has gotten a transformation. Sticky Notes on Windows 10 look just like a physical version of sticky notes.
With new Update Windows 10 also allows you to sync them with the cloud to keep them safe. However, if you have an older version of Windows, you must create a backup so that you can restore them whenever you want.

How To Create A Backup Of Your Sticky Notes?
To create a backup, of Sticky Notes on Windows, follow these steps:
Step 1: Press Windows and R key to open Run command and type the below-mentioned command
%LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState & click the OK button.
Step 2: Navigate to plum.sqlite file, right click and select Copy from the context menu.
Step 3: Press Windows and E key together to open Windows File Explorer. Open the folder location where you want to export the backup.
Step 4: Do right-click in the folder location & choose Paste from the context menu. You can also press Ctrl and V to paste the file.
So, these are the steps that you need to back up your sticky notes on PC. Now that you have taken the backup, you can also move them to another device.

How To Restore A Backup Of Your Sticky Notes?
Whenever you want to restore your Sticky Notes, follow these steps
Step 1: Press Windows and E key together to launch File Explorer.
Step 2: Navigate to the folder where you created a backup.
Step 3: Right-click plum.sqlite file, and copy it (Press Ctrl and C to copy)
Step 4: Press Windows and R to get Run box and type the following path:
%LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState
Press the OK button.
Step 5: Right-click LocalState folder and select Paste or just select the folder and press Ctrl + V to paste.
Note: Before you paste plum.sqlite, make sure you have deleted the existing plum.sqlite file. Doing this could delete the notes on the existing file.
Once you are done with the steps, open Sticky Notes and you will get all the notes on your desktop screen.

Method 2: Save StickyNotes.snt file
Backup:
Step 1: Press Windows and R to get Run Window. Now copy the following path and paste in the box:
%AppData%\Microsoft\Sticky Notes
Step 2: You will get StickyNotes.snt file.
Step 3: Copy the file and paste it in the desired folder to keep a backup.
Restore:
If you have done a fresh installation of your Windows and have backed up StickyNotes.snt file found in %AppData%\Microsoft\Sticky Notes. Then don’t worry you can still be saved. Follow these steps to restore the Sticky Notes.
Step 1: Close Sticky Notes.
Step 2: Press Windows and I to get to Settings.
Step 3: Navigate to Apps & Features.
Step 4: Locate Sticky Notes and click on it.
Step 5: Click Advanced Options to go next window. Click Reset.
Step 6: Now Press Windows and R to get the Run box and type the following:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbw\LocalState
Step 7: In Local State Folder, create a Subfolder called “Legacy”
Step 8: Now go to the folder where you have copied the StickyNotes.snt file and copy and paste it to the Legacy folder.
Step 9: Rename the Sticky notes.snt to “ThresholdNotes.snt”
Once done, launch Sticky Notes and you will get all your sticky notes back.
