It seems that Google is considering Indian market as its biggest research hub. It was not even a fortnight when Google introduced Tez a new payment app for Indian customers, using which they can receive and send money from their bank. Now Google unveiled another new feature in Indian market, using which users can review movies and television shows coming within Google search results. Google officially confirmed about this feature and stated that this is currently only available in India.
Indian users can use this feature over Google app, mobile and web, but only with default language as English.
Using this feature, users can not only mark a ‘like’ or ‘dislike’ for any movie, but also submit independent reviews. After the review is submitted it will first filtered by Google’s system for any irrelevant, explicit or copyrighted content. Adding more to this, other users also have liberty to flagged any content as inappropriate so that it can be again reviewed by Google, and if found unsuitable can be immediately removed.
After the successful submission of review by a user, it will appear in the Knowledge Panel for various TV shows and movies in search results on Google.
Frankly speaking this feature is not much different from Google another feature, restaurant review. This allows users to review various restaurants about the quality of food, service, prices and ambiance etc.
It will not be surprise if this feature comes out to be a success and gains more credibility than IMDB (Internet Movie Database).
How to review or rate a movie:
- Search the movie in Google, and tap on REVIEWS.
- Once you tap on REVIEWS it will first of all show the critics review along with the rating from Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB.
- Now once you scroll down you will find section of Audio reviews. Here you can post your reviews regarding that particular movie or TV show. Also you can contribute in rating by tapping on thumbs up or down.
Google has still its cards packed and has not commented anything that when it is introducing this feature in other regions such as Europe and North America.
Indian user must consider themselves lucky as they yet again become the first one to experience an all new feature. After Google Feed and Tej. Google Feed though already now launched in other parts of the world however Google Tej is still running only in India.
