Google apps are quite mesmerizing and are capable of engaging users for hours. However, it continuously works on improving its services and that is why it appreciates the hard work by unveiling its apps that stand out by recognizing and rewarding them at Google Play Awards 2018.
As per the tech giant, the motive behind the ceremony is to “recognize the best apps and games on Google Play over the past year”, and they also think it’s a wonderful approach to discover something new to try.
The company announced its nominees in the late of April 2018 and now revealed its picks for this year. This year, there are nine categories of apps and games that provided the best user experience on Android. The decision was made based on different criteria’s such as extraordinary designs, technical performance, outperformer and major updates since 2017. This category is for motivating users to live their lives in the best possible way.

Simple Habit is the winner for this year, and managed to maintain its place in Google Play’s Best Apps Award this year as well. It focuses on reducing the stress, anxiety and helps you get peace of mind.
Best Social Impact
This category is for creating a positive and social impact on society across the world.
Winner: Khan Academy
The app lets you learn things at your fingertips and is free of cost. It provides more than ten thousand videos and explanation for the better understanding of science, history, math, and economics.
Best Community Building Game
The category includes those games that inspire social interaction and aid another user to interact socially.
Winner: Episode
Episode is an incredible and intuitive app that lets you live your stories. It is the world’s largest home of visual stories that allows you to choose your path.
Best Accessibility Experience
This category is all about serving the people who have disabilities or special needs.
Winner: Be My Eyes
The app is all about lending your eyes to a person who is visually impaired and needs help to get things done. Be My Eyes allows a live video connection to help disabled people.
Standout Indie
This category pays attention to the games that are from indie developers such as overall polish, gameplay mechanics, and artistic design.

Under this category, developers provide apps that are highly effective for offering excellent and engaging ARcore experience.
The app offers an official BBC Earth VR experience that shows it is only on daydreaming. BBC Earth brings users closer to natural world and experience of BBC Earth.
