According to a recent report, the Cupertino giant Apple is considering changing Siri’s trigger command from “Hey Siri” to simply “Siri”. On the 6th of November 22, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman shared an article citing this upcoming change from the tech giant Apple.

And according to that, you can invoke the smart assistant by just saying “Siri” instead of “Hey Siri” following your desired command. According to Mark Gurman, Apple has been researching this for a while and is planning to release it either in 2023 or 2024. To make the addition work effectively, Apple will need to invest in “substantial AI training and fundamental engineering effort,” as the smart assistant would need to fully understand a single waking word instead of two.

This little change will surely help Apple to compete with Amazon’s Alexa since Alexa from Amazon can already be accessed by saying “Alexa” rather than “Hey Alexa.” Additionally, it would also put Apple ahead of Google because they don’t know about the future, but for now Google Assistant is only accessible by saying “Hey Google” or “Ok Google,” respectively.

Mark Gurman also claims that Apple would further integrate its Siri voice assistant into third-party applications and services, enhancing its grasp of users and decision-making capabilities.
