WhatsApp Will Now Allow You To Revoke your Sent Messages

‘Revoking/Deleting sent messages, a much needed feature on WhatsApp, is going to be launched soon. Many a times, you end up sending a message to an unintended recipient.

Say a mushy message meant for your better half reaches your Mum. Happened with me so many times! And how can I forget faux pas with multiple people on groups. How I wish I could ‘unsend’ those messages and images. Finally, WhatsApp has intercepted this predicament of users and has decided to act upon it.

Reportedly, the Facebook owned online messenger WhatsApp is going to bring a new feature to its users which will allow them to revoke sent messages. It will be known as ‘Recall’ and messages can be revoked within 5 minutes.

What all can be revoked:

We can use WhatsApp for sharing lots of things such as GIFs, documents, Pictures videos. So now you will be able to revoke all this and with this you will also be able to revoke Quoted messages and status replies. So, WhatsApp will help you save a lot of embarrassment because of a silly forwards and messages.

This feature will supposedly be included in the version newer than 2.17.30. Currently WhatsApp has its Version 2.17.30 for iOS users and the version varies for Android users according to the device being used.

Hopefully, this addition to WhatsApp will work well to protect you from the embarrassment after sending a wrong message to a wrong person or in a wrong group. But till the feature hits the app, you just be a little more careful before tapping on the send button!
