By now almost all iPhone users must have upgraded to iOS 12.1. The latest version of iOS that adds tons of features to your iPhone.

1. 70 New Emoji added
Emojis are very popular and widely used by all. Recently, Apple added a total of 146 emojis to its latest iOS 12.1. These are just a variation of the older emojis therefore the actual number of new emojis added is 76. The new emoji include red hair, new animals, range of sports of options and soon by next year new emojis will also be arriving.
2. Group FaceTime
Another big feature that Apple promised in June is finally available for public in iOS 12.1. With this feature iPhone and iPad users can now do FaceTime audio and video chats with up to 32 users at one. This feature will automatically feature the call initiator at/ one who is talking on the top to avoid creating any chaos. To make the feature work update to latest iOS 12.1 In addition, Group FaceTime can be initiated or answered in Messages or in the FaceTime app itself.
3. Enables eSIM feature
Another important update iOS 12.1 bring for its users is dual-SIM functionality. But this functionality only works for iPhone XR, XS and XS Max users. The second sim is an eSim that doesn’t require a physical SIM card, this means it is a digital SIM that allows to activate cellular plan without having any physical Nano-SIM. This second SIM is provided by your carrier and is stored digitally in your phone. Currently, very few carriers support eSIM. Apart from this new iPhone also come with Dual-SIM Dual Standby feature this means both physical SIM and embedded SIM will be active without swapping. Users will be able to answer calls from both numbers.
To activate eSIM users need to have carrier’s iPhone app, scan the QR code provided by the carrier. If this doesn’t work they can enter the information manually by tapping on Enter Details Manually option present at the bottom of your iPhone screen.
4. Real-Time Depth Control
Besides, the above mentioned features another hottest and exciting feature that iOS 12.1 brings to iPhone XS and XS Max is depth controls when editing a Portrait mode image. This feature allows user to adjust the amount of background blur whether the photo is taken from front or rear camera.
Depth Control can be accessed via photos app when choosing Portrait Mode, simply tap the edit button and use the slider present at the bottom to adjust the blur ratio. Before the photo is clicked blur can be adjusted.
5. Clicking sound made by Flashlight & Camera on Lock Screen
This one change might not be noticed as other major changes are big enough. But this change will surely help people notice if Camera or Flashlight is opened on the lock screen of iPhone newer models.
