Video Games We Bet You Never Completed

It’s pretty obvious how addicting video games can be. Especially with the cut scenes, powerful dialog and engaging backstories, video games have evolved from simple pixelated blobs to marvelous CGI masterpieces. With time, gamers have also seen a lot of changes when it comes to gameplay as current generation games have far superior gameplay compared to simple controls in retro games.

But be it classic era titles or new ones, there are several games that require career-destroying patience and skills to complete. We’re not saying no one can complete these games. However, their lack of reward and difficulty makes it extremely boring for gamers to finish these titles to a 100%. So, in this article we’ve compiled a list of games, both old and new that we can safely say you never bothered to complete.

  1. GTA: Vice City/San Andreas

The concept of open world gaming where players are free to roam vast areas in games, actually skyrocketed with Rockstar titles. Especially when talking about Grand Theft Auto games, players had a choice of straying from their mission and  explore the city. They could play various minigames that help you earn extra cash to spend on in-game items. But more often than not, these minigames and side-quests also distract you from the game’s story. Eventually, most gamers get bored and end up never completing the game.

  1. Ghosts & Goblins

Despite of its popularity and legacy, Ghosts and Goblins on the NES is regarded as one of the toughest games ever released on a gaming console. While the gameplay is incredibly addictive, its sheer difficulty is something that will make you break your controller. But the most frustrating part of the game is when you reach the final boss. And just when you think you defeated him, he pulls a ‘Samurai Jack’ on you sending you back to square one, forcing you to play all the levels again with increased difficulty. You’re better-off studying to become a doctor or a pilot.

  1. Crash Bandicoot: Warped

If anyone complains about the lack of iconic platformers on the PS1, they surely haven’t played Crash Bandicoot. Although most games in the series were top-notch, the 3rd game was something not many players could complete. We’re certainly not saying it wasn’t awesome. But it’s the kind of game where doing 100% is just not enough, quite literally! Crash Bandicoot: Warped was a strange game that required 105% completion (probably an Asian-dad joke). Moreover, the fact that you need to collect 25 crystals makes it even more frustrating for impatient gamers to ever finish this game. Although its remastered version still kicks solid butt on the PS4.

  1. Bully

Another game by Rockstar, Bully takes place in the same universe as the GTA games. Therefore, it is also loaded with several distracting side-quests that aren’t really rewarding. Although players do complete the story mode in Bully due to its engaging plot, but there are only a handful of gamers who finished this game to 100% completion.

  1. Konquest Mode – Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance/Deception

Despite of being an extremely popular fighting game franchise during the 16-bit era, Mortal Kombat did have its low point. While the previous entry MK4 was a mild-success, PS2 era titles aren’t the best examples of MK awesomeness. While both Deadly Alliance and Deception were sub-par fighting games, their Konquest mini-game was loathed by gamers and longtime fans. While MK:DA’s Konquest mode simply involved a training mode, MK: Deception’s story mode was made into a quasi-mission game that only fans of MK Mythologies: Subzero would play. We hardly know of any gamer who even cared to play this mode.

  1. Assassin’s Creed

We’re not talking about just one game here, but an entire series we’re sure you never finished to a 100%. It’s one of the cases where despite of an incredible story, gameplay and iconic characters, gamers hardly feel motivated to complete all side-quests as they do not affect the plot. And with the stingy reward system, there’s no reason why anyone would even try.

  1. Skyrim V: The Elder Scrolls

Regardless of its popularity and critical acclaim, Skyrim V: The Elder Scrolls does have its fair share of flaws. The repetitive gameplay, primitive move set and a vast and confusing map are just few reasons why gamers hardly ever complete this game. It does have a very engaging plot that makes you want to know more. But thanks to the million side-quests, you hardly ever get to the game’s end.

Like we said earlier, the above names might not be extremely difficult to complete. But simply due to the fact that they get boring and repetitive after a while, gamers usually just change the CD or drop their controllers in boredom. In case you feel we’ve missed out any important entries, please feel free to mention them in comments and we shall come up with a brand-new list.
