1. Basic Checkup

- When the run dialog box opens, type devmgmt.msc and then press enter

- Right-Click on the device model and click on Properties
- Click on the Driver tab and then click on Uninstall Device and press OK. You might be prompted to restart your computer
- Now, scan for hardware changes
- Windows will now help you reinstall the missing driver for your mouse

(B) Update Mouse Driver
You can update the driver for mouse using the same steps as the above method. Instead of clicking on Scan for hardware changes, click on the Update device driver. Here’s another way, you can update drivers and that too automatically using Smart Driver Care. To do that –

- Click on Start Scan Now
- All the outdated drivers will be listed
- You can either choose to update all the drivers by clicking on Update All, or you can click on Update Driver next to an individual driver

4. Disable Enhanced Pointer Precision

- Click on the Pointers Options and then under Motion uncheck the Enhance pointer precision option
5. Disconnect External USB Devices

That’s because external USB peripherals at times interfere with the mouse or touchpad. 6. Run SFC SCAN NOW
SFC or System File Checker is a utility in Windows 10 which can help you scan for corrupted files and protected files, and it then replaces them with a cached copy. This might even fix mouse problems in Windows 10. To run SFC Scan –
- Type CMD in the Windows search bar.
- Choose Run as administrator from the right-hand pane.
- When the command prompt window opens, type SFC /Scannow.
- This process may take some time, so wait for the process to finish.
- Restart your system.
7. Switch Touchpad On/Off Or Reset It
Last but not least, you can try switching your touchpad on and off or even reset, which might be helpful in troubleshooting touchpad issues. This setting might differ slightly from version to version.
- Open Settings
- Go to Devices
- Click on Touchpad
- In the right-hand pane slide the Touchpad slider to the left and then slide it to the right again
