Steps To Troubleshoot macOS Mojave Beta

At WWDC 2018, Apple announced its new macOS Mojave and launched the beta version soon after. If you are facing issues while installing or using the beta version of new macOS, then you have come to the right place!

Backup Your Data on Mac:

If you haven’t still downloaded the new OS on your Mac, and are thinking on proceeding, take a backup of your Mac. However, if you have already upgraded your Mac, there is no significance but you can take backup if you want. As backup will save your bacon on a rainy day.

Issues Encountered While Downloading Beta Version of macOS Mojave:

If you are trying to download macOS Mojave beta, and you get the message, “You must enroll your Mac to download the beta.” So, what you need to do is, unenroll, then re-enroll your Mac. Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

macOS Mojave Beta Freezes During Installation:

So, you downloaded beta file of macOS, and unfortunately while installing it , the installation stops as you get a rainbow ball. This is one of the general issues while installing Mac’s beta version. There could be various reasons that the installation file froze and some workarounds listed.

Native Apps Not Working:

This is the rarest issue, as Apple apps should work on the beta version as well, as the apps are designed to work on the platform. You can simply reboot your computer and try to use your Mac and native apps to see if it works. If not, you can report the issue, file a Radar to Apple, so that the experts can resolve the issue.

Messages Not Syncing in iCloud:

You can sync your messages to iCloud, if you are facing issues while doing the same, then you can simply disable, and enable and try to sync iMessages in iCloud to resolve the syncing issue.

iCloud Does not Sync:

If you have downloaded and installed macOS Mojave beta, and encountering issues, it is more than normal to get issues and bugs on the beta version. One of the issues, iCloud doesn’t sync on the computer with the beta version.

After installing macOS Mojave beta, everything is fine but one of your third-party apps is not working, then it will not work until an OS is launched for public use. You can also contact the developer of the app or wait until fall for the final release.
