Steps To Manage Default Apps on Android
No matter which phone manufacturer it is, you need to locate Settings first.
Step 1: Locate Settings
Note: Either look for Settings on Home screen or you can get it on the notification panel.
Step 2: Under Settings, look for Apps or Apps & Notifications.
Step 3: Once on the Apps & Notifications page, look for Default apps
If you have Samsung, then navigate to Applications. On LG phones, you need to locate Apps, then General tab.
Step 4: Now you need to carefully scour as per your phone’s brand as on every platform, you need to see where “Default Apps” could be seen.
If we talk about Marshmallow, version 6.0, you need to click on cog icon located at the upper right-hand corner, then click Default Apps.
In Android Nougat, you can’t find Default Apps settings, however, you can manage it from the app settings page.
If you own a Samsung Galaxy, then you can choose Default apps under Settings-> Apps-> Default Applications.
However, for LG phone, go to Settings-> Apps->More button, locate from the upper right side of the screen and click Configure apps.
For Huawei phones, under Settings-> Apps->Default app settings located at the lower part of the screen.
Note: When we install a new application and make it a default one to perform certain tasks, this action will reset the earlier set default preference for the same category. You will be prompted to set the freshly installed app as default. In case you want the old settings back, you can use the above-mentioned steps.
