New way to express yourself using art and technology to immortalize your loved one’s voice.
Tattoos are commonly known as a visual medium to express oneself, but this concept is changing. A bright new idea to create a whole new augmented reality tattoo experience. The entirely new technology bridging physical and digital worlds in real time and adding an extra dimension to the body art.
Using a smartphone app, you can have a tattoo that can playback. A tattoo artist in LA named Nate Siggard has come up with this concept after hearing a conversation between two friends, where they mentioned about an audio tattoo. He has managed to create tattoos you can LISTEN to, known as “soundwave tattoos”. It will work by combining with an app on your smartphone.
Soundwave tattoos are the next big thing in ink trends, these innovative tattoos will let you play and hear the recordings that you like to hear more often.
What is the app called?
Skin Motion is the mobile application and artist platform network for augmented reality tattoos. The app will create tattoo designs from audio clips, which can be played back via smartphones.
This app can create waveform patterns from any recorded sounds- whether noises, spoken words or music, bringing tattoos to life. It even lets you capture messages from friends and family, or even your favorite lyrics from a song.
How it works?
The app generates a sound wave pattern based on one minute audio which can be music, series of noises, words. The pattern is then inked on the skin and 24 hours later it is followed up with an overlay that gets read by your smartphones camera.
- You upload the audio that you want to use through the app or website.
- To get it inked take the generated sound wave to a certified artist.
- Once the tattoo is done, the audio clip will be uploaded by the artists on the backend and you can use the app to play the sound file.
You need to purchase the Soundwave Tattoo once you record or upload your desired audio clip. Skin Motion certified artists then inks the tattoo.
How to hear Soundwave Tattoo?
To hear the audio all you need to do is hold a camera phone to the finished inking and you’ll hear it play.
The soundwave is accompanied by the phrase ‘Free Will’
