The long wait finally ends! Samsung’s flagship phones S9 & S9+ was recently unveiled at MWC (Mobile World Conference) 2018.
The Mobile World Conference 2018 held at Barcelona witnessed the release of Samsung’s biggest and latest phone from the Galaxy series.

1. Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ Release Date:
Samsung Galaxy S9 was rolled out on 25th Feb at MWC 2018. The same is expected to be available for pre-order in a few days. It is also expected that the phone will be available to customers from 16th March.
Currently, pre-orders are already open in Europe and are said to open in USA by 1st or 2nd March.

2. Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ Price:
- Samsung S9 is priced at $719.99 whereas S9+ will be available at $839.99. This is the price quote if the smartphone is purchased from official Samsung stores.
- For Australia, S9 is said to hold a price tag of almost AU$1300.
- UK customers will have to spend almost £739 to purchase the phone.
3. Samsung Galaxy S9 Screen
Display: 5.8-inch/6.2-inch 2960 x 1440p, Super AMOLED
Samsung Galaxy S9 comes with a 5.8 inches screen with Quad High Definition resolution with 570 pixels per inch. A phone with this sort of amazing resolution provides a super clear picture quality.
S9 comes in a seamless design with almost bezel-less screen and a screen ratio of 18.5:9. The presence of minimal bezels around the top and bottom edges make it chic than any of the Samsung Galaxy series smartphone. Samsung S9 has the same Infinity Display design that user has already seen in Galaxy S8 and Note 8.
4. Samsung Galaxy S9 Design:
- Considering the design of Samsung S9, it owns a design almost like Samsung Galaxy S8 with some tweaks. It encompasses the same Infinity Display in S8.
- Presence of the slim bezels, a glass back and rounded displays on front aim at providing a seamless design to the smartphone.
- 3.8 mm jack is still present on the left bottom edge of S9. Alongside, sits the Type C charging slot and one of the two speakers on the phone. The second is present on the top.
- There are design improvements by Samsung that focus on improving the design. Hiding the iris scanner hole is one improvement amongst the many.
- The Fingerprint scanner now sits below the rear camera which was present next to it in Samsung S8. This has made a huge impact on the ease of access to the phone while unlocking it.
- Samsung Galaxy S9 speakers are said to be 1.4 times louder than S8 and include Dolby ATMOS surround sound technology. So, music lovers this phone is a must buy for you.
- Samsung Galaxy S9 will be available in three colors Midnight Black, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple. It is a waterproof phone and adheres to IP68 standards.
5. Camera:
Samsung Galaxy S9 comes with a 12 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera.
A Dual aperture rear camera with a single lens gives users the liberty to clicks perfect images anywhere and anytime of the day. The presence of dual light aperture enables the camera to adjust automatically to bright and extremely low light conditions. It is installed on the rear camera in Galaxy S9 and rear wide camera in S9+ and supports two modes namely: F1.5 & F2.4.
- F1.5 aperture mode is used for low light conditions to brighten up the pictures and reduces noise too.
- F2.4 aperture mode is used for pictures clicked in daylight and results in even more sharp and crisp photographs.
- Samsung has also improved on the pictures clicked in slow motion. The slow-mo feature of the rear camera now click pictures at a rate of 960 frames per second. This speed is 4 times slower than S8 and clicks amazing and clear pictures in slow motion.
- The features also include automatic motion detect that automatically records and change in motion.

6. Battery:
It has a battery of 3000 mAH, similar as in Samsung S8. S9 also comes with wireless charging feature that will give users ample options to charge it wirelessly. Not just this, it also comes with the fast charging feature that enables fast charging in no time.
7. Security:
Providing more and enhanced security features Samsung Galaxy S9 comes with ample locking and unlocking options. The options available are Iris, Face recognition, Fingerprint, PIN, Patterns, and password.
Out of these Face recognition and Iris scanner are the most advanced and secure and can even detect your face in low light, bright light conditions and even when you are wearing your specs.
8. Augmented Reality(AR):
Emoji
Communicate in an even better manner with Samsung’s new AR emoji. Simply click a selfie with your front camera and see AR turning it into an emoji based on your looks. It makes an image of you using facial recognition which you can easily customize. AR emoji is also capable of detecting 18 expressions of you.
It is similar to Apple Animoji feature of iPhone X but is more advanced than it. Samsung Galaxy S9 AR emoji allows users to customize their emoji with different dress senses, hair colors, clothing options etc.
Bixby:
An improved Bixby in Samsung Galaxy S9 is what users will experience soon. There have been amendments and improvements done to Bixby feature. When in camera app, users will now have access to new features such as live tracking etc.
Bixby also includes live translation feature. Simply place your S9’s camera to the text you wish to be translated and it will be automatically translated. However, you will need Internet connection for this feature to work.
It also comes with an enhanced beauty mode that easily beautifies your selfies.
