Not every phone launch is as smooth as a company expects it will have. The public scrutinizes each aspect very closely. Google Pixel series that was launched last year easily managed to gather all the applause. Since the benchmark has been set high, the expectations from the next series i.e. Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL were also very high.

Google launched its Pixel 2 series in October this year and as expected there was a major set of users who ditched iPhone X for this Android phone. While, there were ample features that users simply loved and which clearly succeeded in making them happy, there were some shortcomings that also left users irritated and frustrated. With screen burning issues to audio bugs, there were many problems that users encountered. One of the major problems that was reported was the random reboot issue.
Yesterday i.e.29th November, Google rolled out the information that the random reboot problem of Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL has been identified and that they will be rectifying the issue in coming weeks.
It was observed that the random rebooting caused a lot of inconvenience to the users and many of them complained about the same.
As per some reports, users who faced this problem were given replacement units by Google, however the same problems were reported on the new units too.
Owing to such a large number of complaints, Google is now trying its best to resolve the problem ASAP.
However, it is unsure whether Google will roll out the fix as a standalone update or will it be a part of the monthly security update.
Orrin the Community Manager at Google Product Forums’ Pixel User Community shared the information confirming the same.
While users of both these phones do not have a resolution for many of the problems, they can still take a sigh of relief that at least, one major problem is going to be rectified soon. However, when it will be rolled out is still a question.
