Netflix Denies Joining Apple TV Service: Know Why?

Coming Monday Apple plans to unveil long-rumoured TV service and during this time Netflix confirms that it won’t be partaking in Apple’s streaming offering.

Why Netflix Repudiates Joining Apple TV Service?

Netflix’s CEO Reed Hastings states that the company would like people to watch their shows on Netflix only.

According to Recode “Apple’s a great company. We want to have people watch our shows on our services,” Hastings said at a press event Monday in Los Angeles.

This news doesn’t come as surprise as Netflix has never included Apple TV features to allow users to see their watched TV shows at a glance.

Moreover, in 2016 when Apple launched new TV app Netflix did not sign up. In addition to this Netflix’s content boss Ted Sarados said Apple hadn’t been the income source for Netflix.

What Apple TV has to Offer?

Apple’s TV offering will feature both original and add-on content from providers like HBO and Showtime. Plus, Apple will allow users to sign up for subscriptions to third party services like HBO.

With this the burning question how, Netflix will vie with Apple and Amazon ascends?

In response to which Hastings said for years the company has already been competing with Amazon, so will do the same with Apple. Also, competition is a motivator for Netflix it boosts consumers and content makers.

“You do your best job when you have great competitors,” he said, before admitting that the increased competition has led to higher prices when sourcing content.

When will Apple go live with Apple TV?

First look of the service will be given on Monday, March 25th at an event set to be held at Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California.

Why is Apple jumping on video streaming bandwagon?

The logical argument is such service will grow iPhone stickiness and will reinforce user ties with iOS devices.
