1. Family Calendar
This is one great feature offered by iPhone Calendar app, especially if you’re using Family Sharing on other iOS devices as well. So, if Family Sharing is already enabled on your iOS devices there’s a huge chance that Family Calendar is created for you. Once you add a new event or reminder on Family Calendar it’ll be visible to all other family members (iOS devices which have Family Sharing enabled). Once you create a new event scroll down where you see “Calendar” and tap on it. By default in most cases you’ll find it set as “Home”. Tap on it and change it to “Family” if you want a particular even to be shared with rest of the family members as well.
2. Pick a Default Calendar
If you’re the admin and care taker of all iOS accounts, you can make it pretty easy and pick a default calendar for all iOS devices. To choose a default calendar go to Settings > Calendar, tap Default Calendar and then choose “Family”. In this way you won’t have to change the default calendar setting on all iOS devices, just doing it once on primary device will automatically make all default setting as shared “Family” Calendar.
3. Set Default Alert Time
Do you frequently forget birthdays or anniversaries? Is yes, then this option might be your ultimate savior. Another iPhone calendar settings allows you to set a default alert time you’ll be reminded about an even on a prior manner so that you don’t miss out on important things. Head on to Settings > Calendar, tap Default Alert Times.
4. Forget Birthdays
Yes, we do believe Calendar app helps a lot in reminding you about upcoming birthdays and anniversaries. But there are a lot of other apps which play a pretty decent role to remind you about a friend’s birthday (Say Facebook). So, if you don’t want your iOS Calendar app to be cluttered with your friends or family member’s birthdays or anniversaries you can anytime opt out and remove it from the Calendar. To do so tap the Calendars option at the bottom, then scroll down to the ‘Other’ section at the bottom, and uncheck Holidays or Birthdays option.
5. Subscribe Other Calendars
This is one of significant iPhone calendar settings which many of us are not aware about. To subscribe some other calendar manually, say if you want to add a FIFA calendar which lists down all the upcoming matches and stuff head on to Settings > Accounts & Passwords > Add Account > Other > Add Subscribed Calendar and then enter that calendar’s web address which you need to subscribe.
