With the launch of three new iPhones, Apple indeed won over the rumors and cold beliefs people had in mind. Where iPhone 8 was the only expectation, the tenth anniversary edition named iPhone X totally startled audiences. On the other hand, Samsung has surpassed Apple in many terms with the launch of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. If you’re among those who’re planning to buy a new smartphone and caught between these two models, this article may be of some help.
Though there is huge following for both platforms, there’s a huge debate on which is better. Today, we’re going to compare iPhone X with Samsung Galaxy S8 (Plus) for you to help making a decision for your next smartphone:
1. Performance:
iPhone 8 and iPhone X are similar use Apple A11 ‘Bionic’ chipset, which has six Hexa-core (2x Monsoon + 4x Mistral) CPU with same no. of core GPU, M11 motion co-processor, 3GB RAM (iPhone X), 2GB RAM (iPhone 8).

2. Design:
iPhone X is no different than Samsung S8 and has 5.65 x 2.79 x 0.30 inches of dimension. Like iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, it has a IP67 certified dust and water-resistant body with an NFC chip used that can support Apple Pay.
As far as Samsung 8 is concerned, it is built with a dimension of 5.86 x 2.68 x 0.31 inches, which is slightly bigger than iPhone X. Compared to Apple, it has a better IP68 certified water and dust resistant and NFC to support Samsung Pay.
3. Display:
Apple is known for its flawless displays and kept the same level in iPhone X by providing a super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen supporting 16M colors. The screen size is 5.8 inches, which satisfies all the purposes. The glass is scratch-resistant and lays a resolution of 1125 x 2436 pixels that is HDR10 compliant and supports multitouch.
Samsung doesn’t seem to challenge the screen size this time with a 5.8 inches of screen in Galaxy S8. However, the resolution is a beyond the competing limits of 1440 x 2960 pixels. If you’re worried about protection, Samsung takes care of it by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Although, it’s advised not to test it.
4. Camera:
It appears that Apple didn’t want to put much efforts on iPhone X cameras as you can see the same camera they’ve got in iPhone 7 Plus. A Dual 12 MP rear camera with shutter speeds of 1.8 and 2.4 frames per second with a 7MP of 2.2 frames per second front camera. Though there’s nothing new but quite sufficient if quality is concerned.
Samsung Galaxy S8, in this context, is far behind Apple with a single rear camera of 12 MP having 1.7 frames per second shutter speed. The front camera is loaded with an 8 MP that gives the same shutter speed. Though, both the cameras are good but you do know who rules this regime.
5. Battery:
Although, Apple hasn’t officially revealed the actual sizable amount of the battery in iPhone X, but it is expected to fall 3200mAh to 3500 mAh. Apple proclaims the fast charging feature that charges its battery to 50% in 30 minutes, which is incredible.
Samsung Galaxy S8 doesn’t disappoint you here and offers a 3000 mAh lithium-ion battery that is enough to last long.
