With each new iOS update, we receive a handful of useful features that tend to make our iOS experience more delightful. iOS 12.2 is Apple’s latest software update (running in Beta version) and is loaded with a bunch of awesome features you should know about. The public release of this latest iOS version is still yet to roll out, but we can’t control our excitement. From a revamped AirPod screen to advanced Apple Maps features to better browsing experience on Safari and a lot of more other surprises, we are really looking forward to this new iOS update.
So, without wasting any more time let’s highlight a few iOS 12.2 features that you shouldn’t miss in any case.
New Animoji
Animoji has so far been a prime highlight of newly launched iPhone models which include iPhone X, XS, XS Max, and XR. So, if you’re a huge fan of Apple’s Animoji here comes one good news. The upcoming iOS update i.e. 12.2 will be featuring four new animated characters that include a giraffe, shark, owl, and boar. Be prepared folks, as messaging and FaceTiming with friends is going to get a lot more fun pretty soon!
Check Air Quality in Maps
Did you know you could also check the air quality of a certain city or location on Apple Maps? Yes, that’s right. This feature was rolled out along with iOS 12.0 which most of us are not aware of yet. Whenever you’re using Apple Maps for a specific location, you will see a tiny square box on the bottom right corner which includes current weather condition of that area. Tapping on that box you will see an AQI (Air Quality Index) that depicts how clean or polluted the air quality of that location is.
Customize Downtime for Each Day
Downtime is a useful feature on iOS and especially if you’re too addicted to your smartphone. With the help of Downtime feature, you can suggest a certain time period when only certain applications and features are active on your iOS device. You can find this feature in Settings> Screen time. The latest iOS update will allow you to set downtime for each specific day separately so that you can manage your phone addiction more effectively.
Smart Search on Safari
iOS’s latest update now allows you to search smarter on Safari. Now whenever you’re typing anything in the search bar, you will a bunch of arrows next to suggested search options. Tapping on any of that arrow will auto-fill search phrase so that you don’t have to type the entire thing on your phone. These arrows will help you to search right away within no time.
Revamped Apple Pay Cash Design
Another promising feature offered by the upcoming iOS update is a new look and feel of Apple Pay Cash. Wait, that’s not just it! You will also see a new “Add Money” shortcut in the interface on the main screen so that you can easily add funds in your account without any hassle.
Apple TV Remote Screen Gets Bigger!
In iOS 12.2 you will experience a bigger Apple TV remote screen which will allow you to manage playback controls like rewind, fast forward, use Siri and Touchpad. As soon as you pick the remote from the Control center, simply tap or long press on the screen to open the wider screen view.
New Icons
Apart from these major highlights, if you dig deeper you will notice new icons for Screen mirroring, and AirPlay which are now much more visualized and clearer compared to the previous icons.
