Apple ID password is very important for Apple Users. Just like Android users require a Google account, Apple ID is needed for almost all the important changes done on Apple devices. With Apple ID, you log in to iTunes, sign into FaceTime, iCloud or download applications from App Store.
But what happens when you accidently forget your Apple ID password? In this article, we have discussed how you can reset Apple ID password. All you need to do is follow these simple steps.

Resetting Your Apple ID Password
- Go to Apple ID account page (https://appleid.apple.com/#!&page=signin)
- Click Forgot Apple ID or password.
- You will be redirected to a page asking to enter your Apple ID.
- Enter your Apple ID along with the captcha and click Continue.
- Next step would depend on what security have you chosen, or it can be two-step authentication process or two-step verification process.
- If you have not set the security for your Apple ID, it will ask security questions to confirm that it is really you. (Security questions are set at the time of account creation)

Note: You need to answer the question just like you answered them the first time, this would include accurate spellings and case.
- Once, you are done with the verification process, you will be redirected to a page to reset your password.
- Now, enter the new password twice. You will see a checklist of things that your password must consists of, 8 or more characters, Upper & lowercase letter and at least one number.
- Click on positive option to confirm the change.
If you have chosen Apple’s two-factor authentication, here is what would be different:
- Once, you have entered Apple ID and captcha and clicked Continue.
- You will be redirected to a page asking for your phone number associated with two-factor authentication
- You will be redirected to a screen offering to let you reset your password from another device or from a trusted phone number.
- If you choose to reset it from another device, you’ll receive an alert with a link to System Preferences > iCloud and the option to Reset Password.
- If you choose to reset it from a trusted phone number, you will see a warning, “Account recovery is a secure and automatic process to help you regain access to your account as quickly as possible while protecting your Apple ID.”
Note: If you have access to a device running iOS 10 or MacOS Sierra or later you will be able to use reset the password option.
Once the password is reset. Try signing in to your iCloud and iTunes Store to make sure the new password works.
