We have discussed a step by step guide to download and install the leaked Android beta version for your Galaxy Note 8.

Note: There are certain parameters that you need to check, before starting:

Disclaimer: After installing the beta version, you might face difficulty in zooming on Samsung’s Camera App. With the update, you will not be able to use your Note 8 with your Gear VR headset. Moreover, your battery life could get reduced and some of the third-party apps might not work. It is recommended to take a backup of your phone before you start.

If all this seems ok to you, let’s get started!

Step: 1 Download Samsung’s Nougat BQK2 firmware and save the ZIP file on your phone’s microSD card storage.

Step: 2 Open your file manager app and check the file whether it is saved as “update.zip”.

Step: 3 Now, you need to take your phone to Recovery Mode. To do that, press power button, volume button, and Bixby button simultaneously for a few seconds. The screen will go blue and Android mascot will appear, release the buttons when you see that.

Step: 4 Now, you will get a screen with options, use volume keys to navigate and power button to confirm. Select “Apple update from SD card” and press power button to confirm.

Step: 5 Select the “update.zip” file using the same buttons. The file will start installing. Once done, the phone will reboot automatically.

Once, you are done with these steps, you need to install the Oreo firmware and save the file as a ZIP file on your microSD. Check if the file is saved to SD card. It will be there by the name “BQK2 (N OS) to CQL1 (OREO).zip”, you can rename it if you want.

Step: 6 Now turn off the phone again and go into Recovery Mode, just like before. Once there, select “Apply update from SD card” by using volume and power buttons. Now choose the Oreo file and it will initiate the installation process. The process might take approximately ten minutes. Once the process is finished, your phone will reboot and it is done!
