How to Enable Favicons In Safari On Mojave

With new Mac OS Mojave, Apple dedicatedly put efforts to improve a lot of its features for good. From the completely new Finder to the new screenshot tool, significant improvements can be seen on the all new Mac Mojave. However, one of the most awaited benefit I got is the favicons on Safari, which had been disappeared for beginning of time.

Favicons were one of the major reasons that many Mac users were exploring on Google Chrome instead of Safari. With Mojave on machines, you’re now able to differentiate between opened tabs and access them faster. However, you’re supposed to opt in for the feature. Today, we’re going to explain on how to enable favicons in Safari on Mojave.

What is a Favicon?

A favicon is also known as website icon, favicon, shortcut icon, URL icon etc. It is that tiny icon that helps you recognize a website from a pile of tabs opened on an internet browser. In the lack of a favicon, you may have to go through all the tabs in order to reach the desired one. In previous versions of Mac OS, Safari did not have an option to display website favicons, which lead to users in using other browsers over Apple’s own Safari.

You can easily understand favicon through various examples like the ‘f’ icon for Facebook, the colorful ‘G’ for Google, a stylish ‘w’ for Systweak and the little blue bird for ‘Twitter’.
