iPhone is one of the flagship smartphones of the era with an operating system of its own. It is considered as the smartest devices known. However, it is not immune to issues especially when it comes to not turning on. The issue can occur either due to software or hardware problems. There are a lot of reasons for your iPhone not restarting. It could be a faulty charging adapter or cable, drained battery, software crash etc.

1. Plug it to charger:

We know this sounds obvious, but someone this could save your iPhone. Sometimes when you have not used your iPhone for some time and battery has completely drained, then it could be the reason of your iPhone not turning on. So, put your iPhone on charge and wait. It is advised to use the original lightning cable. It will take a few minutes for your iPhone to respond. You will see charging screen with empty battery on iPhone.

If this screen comes up, then your iPhone is working completely fine and you have nothing to worry about. However, if the screen doesn’t come back, go to the next hack.

2. Change Lightning Cable and Adapter

There might be a possibility that your iPhone’s charging cable or adapter might not be working, so you can try and change adapter or cable of your charger to check if that turns on your iPhone.

3. Do A Hard Reset

If your Phone is not turning on, due to software related issues, then performing a hard reset can help. Hard reset on iPhone, will not remove user data but it clears RAM and end unwanted processes. To do the hard reset, follow these steps:

If you have iPhone 7 or later:

If you have iPhone 6s or older models:

Once the Apple logo comes, iPhone will turn on as usual. If your iPhone doesn’t turn on, proceed to the next step.

4. Restore With iTunes

If your iPhone finally turns on, but you can’t get past boot screen, or blue or red screen comes up, then you should install iOS on iPhone by using iTunes. You need latest version of iTunes to begin with.

To do that, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your iPhone to your PC
  2.  a) If you have iPhone 6s or older then

     b) If you have iPhone 7 or 7 Plus

     c) On iPhone 8 or later

  1. Now, press & hold Side button till the time recovery-mode appears on the screen.
    You will not lose personal data while updating the iOS via iTunes. To update, click on Update. If you want iPhone data to be removed, then select Restore

5. Contact Apple Support

If none of the above things worked for you, then you can go to Apple Support. If your iPhone is in warranty, or you have Apple Care plan active, then your iPhone will be fixed without any money.
