Majority of renowned navigation apps including Google Maps offer us an offline maps feature which lets us access maps even without Internet. While traveling in low reception areas or in areas where data connectivity is almost nil, this feature might be really helpful.

If you have finally decided to go off-grid here’s what you need to do:

  1. Launch Google Maps app on your Smartphone.
  2. Tap on Menu>Offline Maps> Select your own map> Download.
  3. This will download the map in your phone’s internal memory. So now whenever you wish to access tap on Menu>Offline maps.

  1. Launch Google Translate app on your iPhone or Android device.
  2. Go to Menu> Offline Translation.
  3. From the available list of languages pick any one and then tap the Download button right next to it.

This will save the dictionary in your phone’s internal memory allowing you to use Google translate even without Internet.
