Steps to Disable Lock Screen Notifications
Disabling lock screen notifications is an easy task. You cannot disable it for multiple applications in one go and hence will have to disable it for individual applications one at a time.
Follow these simple steps to to get a notification and preview free lock screen :
- Open Settings on your iOS device and tap on Notifications.
- You will see a list of all the applications installed on your device.
- Tap on the application for which you wish to disable notifications.
- When you tap on the application you will get the option for disabling the notification.
- Click on “Show on Lock Screen” option.
After following these steps, you will not see any notifications on lock screen from the application, for which you have disabled the lock screen notification.
Steps to Disable Notification Previews
You might have noticed at times that while doing an important work on your phone, you receive notifications on your Home Screen. These notifications stay on the screen for a few seconds. However, these may disturb you at times. So, in case you wish to disable the notification previews you can follow the steps below:
- Open Settings on your iOS device and tap on Notifications.
- In Notifications window, locate and tap on Show Previews.
- By default, it is set to Always. You can now set the device to show preview when device is unlocked or to never show preview.
When you change the preview settings directly from the Show Previews, it will be applicable for all the applications installed.
Whereas, if you change the preview settings by tapping on the application it will be changed only for that particular application.
For someone who is concerned about privacy and is not comfortable with reading notifications and replying to them while the device is still locked this feature might be useful.
