Amid COVID-19, Apple like many other credit card companies allows its customers to delay the monthly payment this April as well. Last month, Apple allowed its customers to skip their March payment as well, without any accruing interest. This is quite a relaxing piece of information as a lot of countries are under lockdown and business is on an all-time low, with a lot of people rendered unable to full fill their daily needs.
This information of Apple letting Apple Card holders being able to skip monthly payments without penalty charges was said in an email on Wednesday, sent by Apple and Goldman Sachs.
What Does The Email Exactly Say?
The email said “We understand that the rapidly-evolving COVID-19 situation poses unique challenges for everyone and some customers may have difficulty making their monthly payments. Apple Card is committed to helping you lead a healthier financial life.”
The email also mentioned that there is a “customer assistance program” and customers must register into the program to defer payments for April, if they have enrolled for it in March.
Apple launched Apple Card last year, it is designed for iOS users, has no fees and comes with cash-back rewards daily. Moreover, it works with Apple Pay. This seems to be Apple’s move to enter and expand beyond the tag of the company responsible for iPhone and reach out to customers & make recurring money from monthly payments.
How To Apply For The Customer Assistance Program?
To enroll in the customer assistance program, users must have to follow a single step. Open their Wallet app on their iPhone and send a message to support the rep, requesting to get enrolled in the Customer Assistance Program.
Since the Coronavirus outbreak, Apple and other industry giants have been making efforts to ease out the situation of consumers. As we see no signs of COVID-19 slowing down, Apple might allow users to defer payments for the month of May.
