Apple is well equipped to announce the new iOS 10 at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2016) in June.
The last update from Apple was manifested in iOS 7 so introducing iOS 10 will work as a milestone for the company. However, it is unclear yet if the company will bring new features or implement some major changes as it did in the case of iOS 8 and iOS 9.
The conference will take place on June 13 at 10 AM Pacific, 10.30 PM IST. It is witnessed that Apple generally uses this stage to announce new versions of iOS and the new versions of OS X.
According to the rumors, iOS 10 updates will have new features, bug fixes, and upgrades which can be seen implemented in the upcoming iPhone 7.
Expected Features in iOS 10:-
The expected features in iOS 10 are listed below:
iOS 10 Features:-
One of the feature that iOS 10 will have is Homekit app which has the potential to manage all the smart home devices through a central point of control. It would look like Apple Health app that connects to a variety of apps to deliver data.
Besides this, it is made known that Apple is testing a new iCloud Voicemail system that relies on Siri. It is expected that with the update of iOS 10, a major change to the photos app will be seen on new OS and on the new version of OSX. Apple is planning to provide better support for multiple users to the iOS 10 update for the iPad.
Apple Music Update:-
Apple has indicated signs to update Apple music. According to the reports, iOS 10 Apple music app will consist of simpler black and white user interface, larger album art, new 3D Touch shortcuts previews, easier sharing options, and incorporation of song lyrics into Apple music
The Beta Version for Developers:-
Once the announcement will be made for iOS 10, Apple would soon offer an iOS 10 beta version to developers to test how their apps work on it. Mostly, the beta version arrives for developers within a few hours of the iOS announcement, so it is likely to see an iOS 10 beta release date in mid-June.
Compatible Devices:-
The iOS 10 compatible devices will be declared at the annual conference. However, the probability is that every device capable of running iOS 9 will be able to work on iOS 10.
The expected list of compatible devices:
5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPad Pro, iPad Pro 9.7, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, and New iPod touch.
The list can vary since Apple is good at surprising like it did with the previous update.
Overall Expectations
It looks like Apple has included a customizable Control Center with third party integration to Siri, a Dark Mode like OS X offers, better iMessage options, and faster access to emoji.
Apple knows well how to maintain silence on developments for the new operating system, and so there could be other features also than rumored.
In the context of release dates, the past pattern of Apple can be seen by which it can be predicted that it will release iOS 10 around the same time as the iPhone 7 goes on sale, which is probably September this year.
Well, these all are rumors, a lot more has to come. Apple will surely bring series of important changes to please Apple fans!
