A Quick Guide To Manage YouTube Privacy Settings

It’s quite important to maintain your online privacy whenever and however you can, and with YouTube’s privacy features you can be sure that no one sees any of your account activity if you don’t want them to.

Here’s how you can edit YouTube Privacy Settings and take full control over your account.

How to Edit YouTube’s Privacy Settings

To access your privacy settings, first head on to YouTube’s Home Page. Next, find your account settings by clicking your avatar in the top-right hand corner, and click on the settings gear icon.

 

Now, find the option for “Privacy” in the left-hand menu bar.

This is your profile info which the public can view when they visit your profile.

If you want to turn off public visibility for all videos that you have so far liked, you need to uncheck these boxes (marked in red).

Here, you’ll find the option to manage what all information appears in your Activity Feed.

In simple approach, the more boxes you have un-check here, the more private and secure your account will be.

How to Tweak Your Ad Settings and Connected Accounts

Next, there’s Google’s Ad Settings. This area doesn’t control data that is openly accessible as a piece of your profile, yet rather what sort of information Google will gather on you for particularly specially tailored YouTube advertisements.

To configure this segment, head on to the bottom of the Privacy page, and tap on link highlighted in the snapshot:

Say you searched for any particular shoe or cosmetic item in the previous couple of months, and it doesn’t appear in advertisements don’t be disheartened. Just deselect the checkbox alongside the topic to keep it from showing up once again.

Finally, go to “Connected Accounts” in the left sidebar. This is the place you can control regardless of whether Twitter cautions supporters when you transfer a video, add a video to an open playlist, or like/save a video from another content creator.

If you don’t have any connected accounts, these settings will be turned off by default.
