Listening History
HomePod is like that on-demand DJ of yours who’s always around you! But what if your friends or relatives don’t match up on your music taste? If you don’t want Apple to mess around with your music listening history you can anytime customize this in the settings.
Launch the Home app on your iPhone or iPad, long-press on the HomePod, and then tap on “Details”. On the details screen, toggle the “Listening History” switch if you don’t want Apple to alter your personal mixes.
Control Siri
The placement of HomePod speakers at the right place is quite crucial. Suppose if you place the speakers on a top shelf you won’t be able to see those white lights which indicate when Siri is listening to you. It is not always possible that “Hey Siri” will work in one go, right?
To overcome this, Apple offers you an option that plays a particular sound that notifies you when Siri is listening to your commands or not.
To control this setting launch the Home app on respective iOS device, select Details.
In the Details screen, toggle the “Sound When using Siri” switch. Now onwards whenever Siri is activated you’ll hear a small sound indication.
Personal Requests
Not many of us are yet aware with this amazing feature of HomePod where Siri can read or send messages on your behalf, create reminders and new notes using your iCloud account. However, if you’re not comfortable with it you can disable this feature from Settings anytime.
To disable personal requests from HomePod here’s what you need to do. Launch the Home app on iOS device and tap the “Location” icon (Triangle shaped) on the left. On the next page under “People” section tap on your profile name. Now tap the “Personal Requests” button to disable it.
