Sonos Debuts New Hardware Trio – Arc Soundbar, Sonos Sub, and Sonos Five Speaker

Sonos the ultimate wireless home sound system finally makes its way to Dolby Atmos theatre audio.  In an announcement made today the company is said to introduce a new hardware trio.

With this, The oddball Playbase speaker is being discontinued and Playbar Sonos’ product lineup is being replaced by a premium soundbar.

What does the trio include?

  • Sonos Arc soundbar with Dolby Atmos support
  • Sonos Five next gen Sonos Play: 5 speaker
  • Third gen Sonos Sub

Sonos Arc is a 45-inch wide soundbar, bigger than the 35-inch Playbar, and is the first Sonos soundbar with Dolby Atmos support. Not only this it offers “rich, realistic 3D sound” that underlines “premium audio experience” with “crisp dialogue.” Available in either black or white Sonos Arc is designed to render all 5.1 channels.

It features extended matte plastic design with 76,000 holes drilled into casting. Inside the outer shell, there are 11 drivers to fire audio. The Arc can play Dolby Atmos audio, PCM stereo, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby Digital 5.1.

How can users use Arc soundbar, Sonos Sub, and Sonos Five speaker?

To use all three-hardware new S2 app, announced and expected to release on June 8th will be used. This app will bring high-resolution audio, a new UI, and more.

Also, the S2 app is said to be the future of the company, but it will come with some negotiations.

All three devices are available for pre-order delivery via the Sonos website. By June 10th the company will start shipping them and they will be globally available.

When the world is fighting COVID-19 Sonos is releasing new hardware why??

Since Sonos first released its Playbar in 2013 a lot of changes in the world of home theatre have taken place. Keeping this in mind and the changing trends due to COVID-19 that is forcing people to stay at home Sonos decided to announce the Arc and another hardware set. This will motivate the people to stay at home and enjoy music or shows on Sonos Arc.

What makes these new Sonos devices different?

When compared with previous devices, the new third-generation Sonos Sub has more processing power and memory. Moreover, it offers a wireless radio to connect with the rest of the system.

However, Sonos Five has the same acoustic design with more memory and a new white color.
