From now on, Coronavirus known as COVID-19, the pandemic is here, and it’s not going away anytime soon. Although to avoid any chances of passing on a virus, people have stopped touching their faces, shaking hands. But are we paying attention to everything?
Phones are the most used device that touches all surfaces, and we touch it, are we cleaning it? The device that we all use repetitively is clean or not?

Tips for cleaning phone and limiting exposure to COVI-19
1. Use 70% Isopropyl alcohol wipes
Every 5 -10 seconds, we touch our phone; therefore, we should clean it with an alcohol wipe. Especially after touching an elevator switch, doorknob clean, they should be cleaned. But this doesn’t mean you can rub direct alcohol. Rubbing alcohol can damage display and other ports.
Some sites suggest mixing alcohol and water, but it’s dangerous, as wrong concentration can damage your device. Therefore, using Isopropyl wipes is recommended, Apple also says it’s Ok to use such wipes.
2. Use Microfiber cloth to clean fingerprint marks
Fingerprint marks are the hardest to clean. With that said, each time you touch your phone, fingerprints are bound to get all over it. The safest way to clean these blemishes is to use a microfiber cloth. If the screen is foul, dampen the microfiber cloth with distilled water and wipe the screen. This way, you can clean the sides and back of the phone.
3. Use Scotch tape to remove sand and dirt
In the tiny ports of your phone, sand gets stuck. To remove it, use Scotch tape. Place it along with speaker and fold it up tape’s glue will attract all dirt.

- Never wash your phone even when it is claimed to be waterproof, avoid doing it as this is void your phone’s warranty.
- Don’t use window cleaner to clean your phone. Use them for cleaning mirrors and windows; they are not meant for cleaning your phone’s screen. A harsh cleaner can wear off your phone coating.
- Paper towels are not for your phone; if you use them, they will leave scratches on your phone screen.
